He is super cool calm and collected, he pushes you when necessary but is very clear, articulate and precise when explaining and teaching. Fantastic experience: Simon was a very reliable and comforting instructor. His clear cut visuals and explanations for manoeuvres and new situations always made me felt at ease and as confident as I could be. His humour and likability always made the 2 hours fly by but still filled with knowledge and technique making me extremely sure in my ability which in the end paid off with passing first time with 2 minors. Even on the day of the test he made me feel like this was just another lesson and made me feel completely entrusted in the mass amounts of skill he had taught me. Fantastic experience: Simon’s reviews pretty much speak for themselves. He is indeed a very calm, prepared and thorough instructor with a very positive attitude and clear learning and progress schedule. Differently from most driving experiences, mine has been full of ups and downs but Simon has always stuck by my side. I started my driving lessons with two different driving schools before reaching out to Simon. I told him about my previous experience and he still decided to give me a chance. It turns out my driving was great, I was just a bit of a rough diamond! Simon not only allowed me to correct my mistakes and learn more about driving but he also always checked how I was doing and knew when I needed a little breathing room and when was a good time to challenge my driving. After this long journey, I have finally passed my test at a perfect time! Fantastic experience: I’m writing this on behalf of my partner Connor, who spent several weeks with Simon gaining the skills he needed to pass his test. After completing a few sessions with a different instructor Connor decided he needed to find a new instructor and was so pleased when we found Simon at Excel School of Motoring. Simon was patient, kind and made driving an enjoyable experience for Connor. He would often come back home and tell me how happy he was with how the sessions with Simon went, especially in comparison to his previous instructor. He knows when to push you and when to take it slow Perfect balance of enjoying the process of learning while still professional and focus on the skills. Fantastic experience: Simon was an absolute godsend, no doubt about it. I started learning to drive with another instructor, who was hopeless. But when I had my first lesson with Simon, it was obvious straight away that he was in another league altogether. He was really thorough, systematic and businesslike, and is also just an exceptionally nice guy. The hallmark of a good teacher is when you realise as the years go by (and it’s now five years since I passed my test) that the instruction you received stands up well over time. That’s definitely the case here – I conscious every time that I get in the car of how well he set me up. Recommended very strongly!
