Negative experience: Very unprofessional company The company never answers their calls always sent to voicemail One of the instructors took £280 for a block booking and disappeared with The money, The company then took 2 months to inform us of this then blocked my calls when wanting my money back Very unprofessional Would 100% not recommend these especially to young drivers, being robbed of her money has shook my daughter and dropped her confidence, Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: My instructor was Tom, His instructions and explanations were very clear and concise also he was approachable and very knowledgeable which helped me pass 1st time. 10/10 I would definitely recommend anyone interested in building confidence in their ability to drive to book with English School of Motoring.

Negative experience: very dissappointed. Started of really well. Good instructor who was punctual and he taught me a lot. I did lessons once a week for around 3 months. during this time he mentioned that he was planning on quitting from the company. he assured me that he would keep me updated and would not do anything until i do a test. I was also supposed to go away for around three weeks in august and i was worried about how things will turn out. but he still assured me that we would have enough time when i get back to squeeze in extra lessons so i would be ready. so i booked a test for september 6th. when i got back, as in literally when i landed, i messaged him saying i was back and was available. didnt hear from him for two days. he then books me in for a lesson that week and not 3 hours later he text me saying he quit and cant do any lessons. i was confused and messaged him asking when our last lesson was. (my test was 2 weeks after i landed.) he repeated that he has quit from the company and cant keep teaching the student as per contract. i then asked what i supposed to do about my lesson which was in two weeks and got ignored. i understand if there was some other problems for him but the least i expected was an apology. he only mentioned the quitting once when we first started and then sprung it on me, really close to my test date. if he quit after my test i wouldnt have minded. its not enough time to find anyone else. i was told that the school would get back to me to give me another instructor and its been a week and noone has contacted me. I had to cancel my test and im going uni in a few weeks so i cant even change the date for a few months time. he was great right up until the end. im really dissappointed. its a huge inconvenience.

Negative experience: Disappointing Customer Service Submitted my details online and called up multiple times and did not receive any meaningful response, despite being promised that I would, even after about six weeks

Fantastic experience: I was introduced to Keith by my sister who managed to get her license first attempt. I only needed a few lessons to brush up on some basics, but Keith‘s attention to little details helped me understand that I still needed to let go of bad habits that probably would have cost me a solid pss in my first attempt. Would 100% recommend to friends and family, as I believe he works hard to make lessons educational and enjoyable simultaneously - this is what sets him apart from other instructors. Thanks again Keith !

Fantastic experience: I was really nervous about starting driving lessons and struggled to find a women instructor that I could “gel” with, I was over the moon to find Meg, Meg sat and listened to all my worries and anxieties and I was pleasantly surprised how understanding she was of them, she has give me nothing but time understanding and also calm and thorough explanations which is what I needed from her, she is very patient with me which makes my driving lessons experience a lot more easier and comfortable for me! Fantastic experience: My driving instructor was called simon a helpful, friendly and patient driving instructor who i couldnt reccomend highly enough made me feel at ease behind the wheel pushed me but not beyond anything i wasnt capable of passed 1st time both theory and test gave great advice and was a great guy also thanks simon all the best to you and your family

Fantastic experience: A very reputable company ! All payments are recorded individually, on a learners log, also used for progress. Each instructor spends many months training to allow them to make a professional decision regarding the learners suitability for test. In the interest of road safety, a test can not be allowed to take place if the learner is not seen to be test ready, and this is always communicated to the learner along with recommendations for further training.

Negative experience: Would not recommend this outfit! They let us down big time and refuse to communicate in particular instructor Polly Lloyd. Be very wary, no receipts, all cash, no comeback!

Negative experience: Simon is nothing but a con man. Late for lessons because he was at the wrong address despite being texted the specific address. When he turned up he had another student in the car (overlapping his lessons to make more cash) he was also driver training. He used my daughters 2hr lesson to drop the other student off (my daughter wasn't even driving!) train his driver oh and to go home for half an hour which he left my daughter in the car with an unqualified person sat outside his house. She was then dropped off 10mins early despite being picked up late. Out of 2hrs her lesson was less than 1hr. When confronted he had every excuse in the book none of them applicable. Then it transpires that it's not the first time my daughter had been sat outside his house during a supposed lesson. So lessons cancelled. The man is a lazy, lying fraudster. Give him your cash and you can be guaranteed to be taken the piss out of.

Fantastic experience: Passed a few months ago in Newcastle, Mike was an absolute brilliant instructor and couldn’t have asked for more. He taught at a pace that suited me, explained anything I was confused about and goes above and beyond to deliver and is an all round great person and great instructor, would recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Called to enquire, had an instructor call me, I decided against lessons with them, the instructor undersstoo. 10 minutes later got an extremely rude call from the owner asking why I had cancelled, I explained I didn't want to do lessons at the moment and he hung up on me.

Fantastic experience: Passed with Mike first time, the man has the patience of a saint and goes above and beyond. Brilliant instructor, great driving school.

Negative experience: Simon, probably worst instructor of the school (owner) always answering hes phone, turning the radio on, wont do hour lessons only two hours, early starts (6 am) asked for a later time wouldn't give me one. kept me beside hes house to read a book for 30 minutes while he went and had a cupper tea or something. I had to change company as he was always "ill" or away on holiday, he went away on holiday for 2 weeks and didn't give me arrangements for a new driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: I had Simon as my instructor and I couldn't have asked for a better man to teach me. He was comforting, funny and an excellent instructor. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to teach you to drive. I took the 20 hour intensive course, but needed 3 extra lessons as I needed a little more practice but it was definitely worth it as I passed first time. Thank you Simon!

Negative experience: Should not be teaching others to drive…overtaking cars and speeding through a school crossing patrol…does this sound like a competent driving instructor?

Fantastic experience: I never write reviews but this time I had to. Absolutely amazing driving school, I did the intensive course with Simon and passed with no minors first time, he made everything simple and easy and had the patience of a saint. I highly recommend English school of motoring, if not for cost for the wonderful service.

Fantastic experience: I've been having lessons for several months with a chappie called Chris Wright. From the get go, he was friendly and easy going, putting me at ease, always willing to explain things again if necessary. As an instructor, he was competent enough to get me through my test first time and because I rate him so highly, I'll be taking my Pass Plus with him in the near future.

Fantastic experience: Today 31st of August I passed my driving test and I was taught by Simon, he's a great instructor, I enjoyed every lesson and I would defiantly recommend this driving school to other people.

If I asked for her to show me an example or how to do anything she did. She was very flexible when it came to booking lessons and encouraged me every step of the way. Overall I'd recommend English school of Motoring.

Fantastic experience: Recently passed my test after taking lessons with Simon. On the whole the experience of learning was enjoyable. Si was a patient instructor and an easy going guy. Easy to book lessons around my work schedule and the price wasn't bad.

Negative experience: If I could rate 0 I would have, the service this company provided was awful I wish I didn't waste my money on such useless driving lessons. Simon the owner of the company was my instructor and we spent more time running errands, sitting outside of his house and going places to do jobs he shouldn't have been doing at work. To anyone wanting to start lessons with English school of motoring, I strongly advise you find someone else!!!

Negative experience: If i could have rated it as 0 stars I would have. Awful instructor, the owner of the company. He should surely set out the best example of an instructor in his company but that is not the case. He should be let go and replaced immediately.

Negative experience: I can't complain about other driving instructors who work under this companies name, however if you're unfortunate enough to get the guy who owns it I would go with a different instructor. Simon. The problem. This guy is beyond a piss take, you pay for your lessons in advance around £180 for 10 hours but you'd be lucky to get 5 of the hours you pay for. Not only does he have you drive him on errands he has you sat outside of his house for half an hour while he has a coffee, shower, checks up on his dogs etc... I've paid this guy way more than I should have. I would definitely avoid this driving instructor. P.S don't take any notice of the good reviews he has on this page if you read them carefully many of them are similar and under the name "a google user" that is because he and his family wrote the reviews themselves.

What can i say, it has been a great experience the past few months and passed my first time on my test all thanks to Simon my instructor, couldn't have done it without him, what a brilliant teacher, anyone wanting to learn how to drive would be daft not to go with English school of motoring not just because of there competitive prices but there outstanding interpersonal skills. I was extremely lucky that I chose these for my driving lessons as my instructor Simon was fantastic, he was patient and allowed me to learn at my own pace and made me feel very comfortable, he was a really down to earth guy but also very professional and precise. I ended up passing my test first time with no minors and would STRONGLY recommend English School of Motoring to anyone wanting to learn to drive! 10/10!

Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test first time today, Simon was my driving instructor and he made me feel at ease and allowed me to learn at my own pace which was great, can't stress enough how helpful and down to earth he was. He even sorted out lessons over the Christmas period with a fellow ESOM instructor which helped me keep on top of my driving. I highly recommend English School of Motoring as they're friendly, understanding and have the patience of saints. Positive experience: I passed first time today through English and my instructor Isabelle. Isabelle is a really good instructor who is very supportive and positive while you are learning. Isabelle makes instructions very clear in what you need to do and at times is very funny. Isabelle also makes sure you learn at your own pace and makes sure you don't take in too much too quickly as it can be a bad thing. I had a great experience learning and was surprised when I passed with only 1 minor. Would recommend Isabelle or english in general to take up lessons with. Very grateful for the time and help I was given throughout.

Fantastic experience: Hi I've recently passed my driving test with 0 minors thanks to dean gillings from English school of motoring , what a great instructor he is , always calm and reasuring ,teaches you some great techniques to help make it easier to learn to drive , and just generally and great guy to learn with, I would deffinatley recommend English school of motoring as they have a good range of block booking deals but I would also highly recommend dean gillings as your instructor !thanks a lot English school of motoring but more thanks to you dean for teaching me to pass ! :) Aaron cox

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my driving test using this company. I only got 5 minors and passed first time too. My driving instructor Dean Gillings was absolutely fantastic and made every lesson enjoyable and fun to look forward too. He has great patience if you seem to take time to pick something up (I kept stalling for the first 5 lessons!) and won't shout or put you down. Because of that it made the lessons something to look forward too and I was able to remember what I needed to do for my manoeuvres. I would recommend using these and especially recommend getting Dean as your instructor!

Fantastic experience: I have recently passed my driving test with English School Of Motoring. After 20 lessons with my instructor Dean Gillings I came away with the confidence to not only pass my driving test but to a safe and responsible motorist. My instructor Dean has a settled manner backed up with a lot of knowledge which helped me to be at my best at the time of my test.

Fantastic experience: I had my test a week ago today and passed first time. I now have a car and feel fully comfortable driving it on the roads. This is thanks to my instructor Isabelle, who helped me get past my initial nerves with her good advice and support. Isabelle was at different times: supportive, stern, funny and many other things, all at the right times to make me concentrate. I would highly recommend both the driving school and Isabelle to anybody looking to learn to drive in the future.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test after doing a couple of block bookings with Chris Wright , Chris is a very astute & knowledgeable instructor with a calming manner & a very likeable personality. Worked every sunday morning to accommodate around my working hours & never once showed a lack of enthusiasm or turned up a minute late. Over the course of the last few months Chris has instilled a confidence that was absolutely key in me passing my test. I have recommended him to several of my family members & wish him & the business all the success in the future.

My instructor was Mick, a really friendly and understanding guy who puts things in a way that you understand. Mick was always very encouraging and positive. His Astra is a lovely little car which is ideal for learning in. I would recommend this school to anyone and can not thank them, and Mick, enough for every they have done for me! :)
