Fantastic experience: Fantastic day, I had a pleasure to drive Audi R8 and GTR, 6 laps each. Professional instructors, great experience :) Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Avoid this place. It's very shoddy.

Negative experience: Very poor & misleading. Bought my son a £300 6 car experience for his 18th birthday for which my son chose the Stafford location. Never states until you come to book that only 4 cars are available, so to book 6 cars you have to pay an extra £100 to book 2 more from the larger premium cars. On the day, very poor directional signage, over crowded, poor organisation, dirty toilets and food facilities-plus the hard sell on expensive and unnecessary insurance. AVOID, there are many better companies out there !!!

Fantastic experience: Used for the Under 17 driving Pathfinder course. Truly amazing and so valuable for teen drivers, teaches driving, safety, law, peer pressure, great confidence boost and saves a fortune on beginners lessons Runs twice a year here for about a week. 2 of my boys have done this and I'm so impressed hubby and myself now volunteer.

Fantastic experience: While I didn't end up using them for my experience, they have the most helpful and easy to access customer support team.

Negative experience: Terrible place to go for a driving experience, got turned away after being told that the day that I arrived on was a kids day when I had it booked for over 3 months. There excuse was that they had been bought out by another company called 6th gear and that because my experience was booked through a voucher company it had stayed with the old company driveme. At no point was a refund even offered or didn’t go out there way to sort any of the issues out, I had also called up the day before to double check that it was still on due to COVID-19 and told that it was. When I was there another man turned up for the same reason as me booked through a voucher and was told the same with no refund being offered just rebooking (I wasn’t offered to rebook). This was all happening whilst another woman who had 2 kids with her was told that the package deal she bought (driving lessons, hot laps, onboard camera) isn’t the same anymore because it had been bought out by 6th gear and the package was with driveme, and that she would have to pay extra again if she wanted the extras. Just seems stupid that a large amount of people have been left behind and out of pocket due to the company being bought out and forgetting about so many bookings and package deals. Will not be visiting again as it was a waste of a 45 minute drive and the standards of COVID social distancing measures were not up to par as it looked more like a concert than a driving event.

Negative experience: Nobody from your company was there. Just a private car club members hired it out for the day . You total con artists . Disappointing for my son. Please take note everyone, don't come here or book here. Watchdog !!!!

Negative experience: Bought a child's supercar blast experience for Christmas, finally managed to get a date for today (11th October 2020). Up early, 45 minute drive, sun is shining, arrive at the front gate of the compound to be greeted by two gentlemen who were members of the local car club who also use the track informing us that our son's experience has been cancelled. The company themselves didn't have any representation there, it was empty. We haven't been forewarned and there is no reply from their telephone number. If you want to use a company that lets down children and doesn't even have enough about them to apologise, then I can highly recommend these amateurs. Why were we not told in advance? Seriously disappointed 11yr old now, thanks a bunch.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and useless. Made a request and been told that they will confirm booking or refund money. There supposed to be car from Europcar but they refunded money because no cars available. Got on Europcar website and booked without any problem with immediate confirmation.

Negative experience: Very poor communication. Booked to drive a Nissan GTR on the 26th August for 16th September. Zero replies to online order. Zero response to office number. Zero response to email. Piss poor guys guys. Used before to drive a Lamborghini at Stafford. Terrible 'experience'. Not allowed to go lower than 3rd gear for 2000 revs. Tootled around an oval track for about 8 minutes. Thought Castle Combe would be a better experience, and really looking forward to it after a gift for Father's Day this year. Shame this company did not have the courtesy to reply to my emails to confirm the booking. Or to reply to my query about the booking. I could reapply to use the voucher on a more local Aintree track but on principle I will not use this company again. I would strongly recommend, in my opinion, that you don't either. A full refund and complaint will now be made. Shameful guys. Poor.

Negative experience: I purchased the junior drive and thrill experience for my sons 12 birthday as he is a super car enthusiast. When asked which top 5 cars he would like to drive he got given the last one on the list which I was not happy about so I had to pay extra to get it changed to a ferrari. On the day we were told to get there 45mins before drive time which we did. The girl at the desk was not very clear with what we had to do from that point. Had to figure it out for ourselves basically. We paid £35 for a memory stick to have it all filmed inside and outside the car whilst he was driving it, great idea price a bit steep I thought, I also paid the £25 waiver for any damage, ok fine I understand that. We then went to the waiting area near the track that was very busy and didn't get much chance to actually see the track. We waited an hour over the planned time before he was called for his turn. It all then seemed very rushed. He had plenty of times round the track driving which was great. Then he came back off and waited a short while for his thrill ride. It all happened that quick I didn't even see him pull away. Then finally the experience was over it was time to queue for his pics. This was very disappointing and basically a rip off. There were 3 options to chose with the cheapest being £25 for all pics to go on the memory stick, so I chose that one as I had already got the memory stick. The pictures were terrible 3 of him standing by the car all looked the same and 19 of him in the car driving. You couldn't see his face on any the wing mirror was always in the way and every photo looked the same. I could have just had the pictures from my phone they were no different. Finally your supposed to get a certificate for your experience which I thought was a really nice idea, they can't even be bothered to print it for you. They send it you on email and expect you to print it yourself. Also because the girl at the desk didn't explain anything it resulted in him not getting the video footage on the day becausehe didn't know he was supposed to give it to the instructor before going into the car, I have had to email them to get it sent to me. Overall the actual driving experience for him was good but everything else was a massive disappointment and rip off.

Negative experience: Very small track unfortunatly. Subaru 'Rally thrill' 6 laps i had to drive racing car lines and i was held back by instructor, some gears crunching too which ruined my experience. (not my driving) Aparently they dont crunch if you get it right! My experience in the Jag f type i wasnt aloud to use down shift, only up until last lap, the instructor told me it would down shift its self! It didnt most of the time i went around corners in 4th 5th gear! Too many cars on the very small track at one time which is then holding faster drivers up. Poor experience im afraid to say. No where near worth the money

Paul Grant 6 years ago

Negative experience: Track is tiny and over in seconds, hold you back and waste time not that there’s much to start with, had more fun in my own car on the way home through the country lanes, very expensive for what it is, you can’t even ignore the instructor an do your own thing because he has a brake pedal to just slow you right down, takes all the fun out of it

Cosimtooghxst 6 years ago

Negative experience: Very disappointed experience, paid for seven laps in the Lamborghini. Wasn’t allowed to go higher than 2nd gear, car would brake automatically when approaching bends. Then did 4 laps in the Nissan GTR which was a huge waste of money as the car drove like it was in limp mode. Maybe this is okay for people who have never driven a sports car nor exceeded the speed limit in their lives.

Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service and experience. My boyfriend drove 6 laps in the GTR and Jaguar F Type. The negative reviews did leave me worried as this was meant to be a birthday surprise but they really delivered!! Was a very nice experience and the printed photos came out very good. Would definitely recommend for someone who loves their cars.

Positive experience: Just been there with my girlfriend and a friend. My girlfriend was given a voucher for a passenger drive and drive 2 super cars. The whole experience was nice. It would be 5 , but the photos on CD ( not USB stick ) were not very good quality and more importantly there were supposed to be only 4 cars at the same time on the small track , but there were at least between 6 to 10 cars there, which spoiled the driving experience.

Rob Mackley 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great experience here today. I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly and very efficient at getting people in the cars and on the track fast. I drove 3 different cars and each instructor encouraged me to go flat out on the straights which was awesome. The track is small but you’re still hitting 90 in a few seconds so a lot of fun. I’d have no hesitation booking on again.

Negative experience: I am currently on day 7 waiting for a response from customer service. They won’t talk to me on the phone and only respond via email to tell me there is no one available to help. I hope the DriveMe customer service team will answer my query soon in a positive way so I can update my review to include more stars. I genuinely believe most businesses try their best in what are tough trading times for all but I’m starting to wonder if DriveMe are serious about customer service or just want to take money without offering the services they advertise. Update I just spoke with ‘customer services’ on the phone. I had to ring twice as they cut me off the first time. Apparently it is not possible for Customer services to ring the managers, even though they are the only people who can make decisions regarding refunds. Even though the refund is only being requested because the package originally purchased is no longer offered by them. Actual words from driveme customer services “we aren’t allowed to ring our managers if it’s about a customer complaint or refund” But sadly driveme customer services seem to have no power to do anything to offer their customers service.

Positive experience: Very good supercar drive experience, but pictures on CD, come on, nowadays most of PCs have no CD roms. And price is ridicules 20£ for 6 pictures.

R T 6 years ago

Negative experience: Absolute rip off. Firstly they don't actually let you complete all your laps and secondly most of the cars have dual controls so the instructors purposely slow down faster more capable drivers. They claim its for safety but in reality its actually to prevent wear on their cars which ruins the experience. The extra insurance is a waste of money and the high speed passenger rides are horrendous, they last about 30 secs. The track itself isn't really a track, just a thin strip of land that you drive round in circles on (my girlfriend laughed out loud when she saw it). It also costs £25 for shockingly poor quality photos of your "experience". I actually raised my concerns with one of the members of staff on site asking how 5 lap times amounts to 6 laps and they weren't interested and wouldn't even accommodate one extra lap out of courtesy. All this despite actually booking a Tesla Model S experience which isn't even available anymore. All in all, don't let them take your hard earned cash, avoid them and go elsewhere.

Connor Johnston 6 years ago

Negative experience: Booked for the rally cars and both were in shop, the supercars are on what is basically a elongated running track and you only get 3 laps despite the stupidly small track. Avoid like the plague and go somewhere decent instead, not worth the money.

Eazi O'Reilly 6 years ago

Negative experience: Mixed view on this as it was a gift from my Mrs, which took me almost a year to get booked in as they never had the cars available that I wanted, I asked for the Lamborghini when booking as was told that the car was unavailable... So I went for the Nissan GTR, Austin Martin and the Mustang...When I arrived the staff were all friendly and polite (the ones I spoke to anyway) I didn't get the extra insurance waiver as I seen that the track was small and just up and down like an oval, no real way to crash of course really so didn't bother paying the £25 for 1 car and £5 per car after that .... But to my disappointment when I arrived I seen the Lamborghini was there, I brought this up with staff and asked if I could change one of my car's as I was told it was unavailable when I booked, I was told that it would be because that car was fully booked up that's why I was told it was unavailable.... Ok no problem.... Until she then told me but I can still drive the Lamborghini today if pay an ADDITIONAL £60.... CLEARLY it wasn't fully booked up.. it was parked up most the time I was there!! It's a sly dirty way to get extra money out of people in my opinion, the cars I did use wer really good except the track wasn't bug enough to go above 80mph and even that was for a few seconds before having to brake again, 3 laps is over in literally 2 mins... I wouldn't recommend the Austin Martin either as my old 13yr old Corsa was in better condition, engine light on, tyre fault warning, and felt really horrible be sat in it and to drive. I would recommend the NISSAN GTR ... Overall happy with 2 of the cars yet seriously annoyed that I didn't get to try the Lamborghini as it's an extra £60 because it was apparently unavailable when I booked. Probably won't go again.

Negative experience: The track is tiny, kids are only in the cars a matter of minutes and the photo package consists of very grainy images. Not really worth the money to be honest.

Negative experience: Purchased this for my husband for a special birthday not what he imagined if you are expecting it to be around a racetrack you will be disappointed wait your turn in a queue of people in the freezin cold just for 3 laps up and down stuck behind slow drivers more fun on the dodgems in a fairground

Negative experience: Driveme well I wish I could but alas. I booked a trackday experience with drive me over the phone and was given a date, which I wrote in my diary and then booked the day off work. However the email confirmation stated a different date, so I rang to correct this error to be told I can not change this date or cancel it. But you gave me the wrong date, no we didn't. Why would I write this day down then? I don't know when your track days are so why would I write a date down that isn't a track day? We don't make mistakes, so you can't change the booking no, you can't cancel the booking? even though you made a mistake. We don't make mistakes. Grrrrrr. What absolutely terrible customer service, please what ever you do do not book with this company

Negative experience: !!! Read terms and conditions on their web site before buying !!! Got the voucher as a present for my birthday, and obviously didn't bother to check T&C. Was busy and could not use it for a while and when decided to book a track day, it turned out that although it is stated weekdays only, they don't do Fridays, number of track days is limited, not all cars may be available, booking between 11am and 3pm costs additional 10 pounds, and it is required to book 12!!! weeks in advance. I was offered to pay 30 pound for 3 month voucher extension, which is actually about of voucher's cost. In particular, info about 12 weeks advance booking seems to me essential and should be present on the voucher itself, and not as recommendation to see T&C on the web site, written with small letters. Doesn't seem to me as fair business.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I visited the centre today (6 October) for a 5 supercar blast experience using a gift voucher. Having read some of the extremely negative reviews on here, we were both somewhat nervous about what to expect (having booked this location purely because no others had availability for the cars we wanted). As it turns out, we needn't have worried. I can't speak for other people's experiences, but we had a fantastic time and are looking forward to booking again. Staff on arrival were friendly and signed us in promptly, leaving us enough time to have lunch at the cafe (simple fare but good value all the same). The session started ahead of schedule, and we got to drive all of the cars we booked (Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8, Ford Mustang, Nissan GT-R and Porsche Cayman S) in good time (we actually finished ahead of schedule). The instructors were all helpful and encouraged us to make full use of the cars' performance (contrary to suggestions of being throttled back or having to cruise around and the like), and whilst an experienced track day driver would probably want to push on and go faster (a) this is aimed at all ability levels so it has to be appropriately controlled and (b) they would be better off at a permanent race track anyway. The only criticisms we would have are that the Aston Martin we drove was feeling its age (the gearbox in particular) and the brakes in the Audi R8 were very sharp and didn't inspire confidence, but neither detracted from our enjoyment of the day as a whole. The GT-R in particular was immense, and we were pleasantly surprised by both the Mustang and the Cayman. Very much worth the visit.

Ashley Cox 7 years ago

Negative experience: Paid to drive a GTR and an R8. Was told not to accelerate hard in the R8 because the car repeatedly went into neutral whilst travelling at speed, happened multiple times in my drive. Waited 30 minutes for the passenger ride and repeatedly ignored by staff members as people would jump infont me and get a go even though they had just turned up, happened 4 times after making it clear and waiting at the front to have a ride. Decided to leave as I wasn’t getting anywhere and staff wouldn’t help with questions. Also not allowed to use launch control on the GTR, why would I pay £60 to drive a super car slowly around a track and be told to change gear very early so I don’t get to experience the cars potential.

Fantastic experience: My boyfriend bought me the 3 supercar track day for my birthday, we went about 2 weeks ago and i absolutely loved it, the cars were amazing and fast, staff were lovely and friendly and the drivers were helpfull and very friendly. Also didnt have to wait long to drive each car. Would defo do this experience again and would reccomend these guys.

Negative experience: Avoid, dont buy any vouchers they give you 6 months but cannot accommodate i have a 3 supercar of choice voucher i rang up in may to book in August no dates ive rang again for end of September no dates apart from one i dont get a choice what supercars i drive and im expected to take 2 cars instead of 3 and they think thats acceptable with a take it or leave it attitude dont waste your money guys

Graham Timmis 7 years ago

Negative experience: Booked a 4x4 experience, got there was told they no longer do it. No phone call or email before hand to inform me. The manager there was good, in that she brought forward the time of the passenger ride (which was only 2 laps, not 3 as advertised). When i emailed to complain i didnt even get an appology, just a refund which took 7 days.

Andrea Pattalis 7 years ago

Negative experience: Terrible customer service on the phone, but okay with email responses. When you call it sounds like youngsters in the background all having a chat and are not very knowledgeable ( the two people I spoke to). 1 month before the experience, I emailed to check if it was all still okay and they told me that they no longer use the car i purcahsed. If i didn't check, I would have arrived having to drive a different car! Will book with virginexperience days from now on! Refund has been refused and the terms and conditions are VERY unfair and they use it as their backup to say you agreed to it. Had to go through a small claims court to get a refund. I'm sure Driveme is okay when there are no issues, however as soon as there is an issue they are terrible!

Michael Jones 7 years ago

Negative experience: Given one star because that's the lowest I can give. Purchased as a gift for me from a high street retailer, had good expectations for it! Upon arrival, instantly noticed the small track layout and a large queue of customers awaiting their turn. Went to go into the office to sort out the paperwork and was informed that it would be advisable to pay for the insurance cover, seemed like a good idea so did that, filled in some paperwork then was sent out to wait in the queue. My turn came and I was sat in the car (not the car I had chosen as that was broken down apparently). The time come to drive and I was instructed strictly to keep my speed and revs low and follow the car in front, no chance to feel some of the car's potential or get any form of excitement at all. Overall underwhelming and not worth the money, would be beneficial to pay extra and use a different experience provider who can offer a better package.

Negative experience: Horrible Bullies! The customer service “manager” is absolutely shocking! Bullying a disabled woman after she asked for a refund because THEY couldn’t provide what she paid for. Disgusting!!! I have never known any company like it! After the case is dealt with anyone considering booking with them is welcome to contact me and have a look at the emails they sent to her. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Fantastic experience: Booked this for a 13th birthday present and wasn’t disappointed. Had read the reviews and they were a bit of a mixed bag so was a little dubious, but my 13 year old couldn’t have been happier! Staff were really friendly and helpful. whole day was great and even bought the 50% off voucher for next booking at only £10 without hesitation. Anyone doubting the junior cars don’t, these are the real thing! my partner was the one sulking as he wanted a go too!!!

Negative experience: Dangerous David. Upon arrival I had the 3 car experience, Audi R8 to start, instructor was very nice and let me use and push the car fully, paid extra to upgrade to the Huracan which was fantastic and instructor very nice, told me which gear to use at what time and talked through everything. Finally the '18 plate Nissan Gtr with who i can only describe as "Dangerous David". The strictest bloke there, told me to only accelerate once in third gear (not sure why) and do not down shift (no idea why). Did one lap, second lap we are behind a Ferrari, which decides very late he's indicating to let us past, so start accelerating but remember I'm not allowed to down shift so car is just bogging down in 5th, all of a sudden were doing about 90mph and Dangeous Dave grabs the steering wheel and starts pulling it down to the left, aiming us directly into the cones ahead, at this speed I thought he had chose to send us through the cones as very little room to make it round the Ferrari and also make it round the coned corner, so he lets go of the wheel with JUST enough time we do this dangerous curve round the corner and just make it. Explained to me he did this because he didn't want me turning into the Ferrari? If there was not enough space then the safe thing to do would be pass it on the next straight. Continue my laps and remember I'm not allowed to down shift so I'm braking and turning the car in which is still in fifth in his words I'm going too fast round the corner and this is why the car won't down shift (I'm going round the bends much slower than the other 2 cars), so just bogging round the top and bottom corners in 5th gear each lap, which he then was reaching over and downshifting for me on corner exit. Why would I be allowed to control and shift the car myself in the other cars but David was literally shifting, braking and steering for me? Completely ruined my day and feel the other instructors were so much better. Grabbing the steering wheel at 90mph in a supercar whilst approaching cones isn't the greatest thing to do and if I had indeed hit a cone because of this I know who you'd put the blame to. Finally I had a disagreement with him about what he did and he threw his clipboard up against the window on the dashboard (hope he didn't scratch anything).

Negative experience: AVOID AVOID AVOID. Terrible customer services. They were selling TESLA experiences but go to book and they no longer have a Tesla. No refund at all not even for the additional insurance purchased. Cover themselves by saying it's in the t's & c's but surely there is an element of fairness to be considered. Only booked it because it was a Tesla - no interest in other cars. Husband is very disappointed as it was a special present for him.

Fantastic experience: Finally got to do this today after 3 after going over the expiry dates 3 times. Picked driveme out of a number of tracks for a 4 car super blast plus 2 high speed passenger laps. Didn't really look to much into the place, only the cars, track and distance suited me best. On arriving it's situated in the middle of what looks like crop fields down a track. Found a parking space easy enough. On walking up to what we could hear the noise of the cars crackling and reving. There was around 40 people waiting by a fenced waiting area besides the track. My first thought and said to my wife I expect this is going to he a farce for the amount of people there was. It was really busy and this was 9.30. I was booked in for 11 found the reception easy, check-in was straight forward, quick form sign date, if you want a damage waver added, licence checked, done. Was given a card with the time allocations and cars and told to wait around the barrier for my name to be called. On the the back of the card there's a form for the instructors to score and note how well you drove for each car. There's another porta cabin at the side of the reception what's a cafe, reasonably priced, hot and cold food and drinks. We got ourselves a drink and sat at one of the few picnic benches there is,as we was early. Theres easy accessible toilets aswell as a little playground, goal post which is fenced and gated for safety. Which our 3 year old son spent most of the time in there while we were waiting. Looking at the cars they all seemed highly maintained and in top condition. It wasn't really long before my name was shouted and I was getting into the camouflage GTR. Was a bit nervous quick talk with the instructor on paddle shifts as I'd never used them before a little brief of the track and I was off. Any nerves I had went in about about the same time it took to hit 60 on the 1st straight, I was a bit cautious about over reving but it wasn't a problem and was instructed to floor it and keep gearing up! The GTR blew me away next up was the Porsche Caymen S. To me this was the best of the lot by far! Then was the high speed passenger laps in a Lotus Elise. This car is amazing! low to the floor, convertible. The driver just booted it round the track with ease and she was a good laugh. Went in another 2 cars the Audi and The Mustang both equally impressive as the rest. What i found and thought is that the track was maybe a bit small, by the time your hitting your speed your slowing down to corner, was abit bumpy. I was wary of other cars on the track, although there was maybe could have been 5 or 6 at a time out on the track, I only seen 1 over took 1 and got over took myself once in all the laps I did. All the staff there are really welcome, pleasant, courtious and professional. I managed to get my score from a 80% to 90% which I didn't think was bad. All in all great day out for all the family, fantastic experience for myself. You very much changed my first impression! Hope to see you again in the future. Thanks to the Driveme team Ps sorry for the newspaper review, I just thought I had to share the experience after reading some of the reviews. And as I said I didn't look to much into this place, I went and found out for myself

Positive experience: Bought a Junior Supercar experience for my sons 16th birthday. It was ok but a little disappointing as the track is so small by the time he'd put his foot down he was braking again and then was getting stuck behind other cars. The card said there would be another 4 cars on the track and there was a lot more than that, it was very busy. The whole thing lasted less than an hour as there was no waiting time in between sessions. All the staff and instructors were lovely though i just think the experience is more suited for younger kids. Not really worth the money and travel time in this instance.

Negative experience: Disappointed isn’t the word bought the 2 car experience with the all inclusive package that states optional extra drive. Thinking it would be another car but no it’s a 4x4 ride or handbrake turns in a clio! After a lengthy debate with there customer service team I quote there response “The 'optional extra drive' is all the information that is provided and is sufficient for selling this product. You have assumed that this would include supercar, but this is not stated on there either. This has not been raised or queries by any other customers. As previously stated - a refund will not be issued as there is no grounds for one.” I think misleading advertising is grounds for a refund! I most definitely would not recommend this company the customer service staff are rude and very unhelpful! There are plenty of better car experience companies about I recommend going to them.

Negative experience: Very disappointed! Not a driving experience atall. Travelled 120 miles to get their, arrived and staff were rude from the start.they offered an accidental damage waver which is pointless because you don't go over 60mph in the cars. I drove the lamboughini gallarado, the instructor was a nice bloke but i was told when to brake turn and change gear, they dont let you go over 3000rpm the experience was pointless, the track is too small i would rather took my own car around the track.the lamborghini felt rough to drive, engine management light was on brake was sticking as lots of rattling coming from under the car. I have been on a few driving experiences and this place is by far the worst ever. Don't waste your money on this place.you will be disappointed!

Negative experience: The track length is very short. If there's more than 3 cars on the track at one time then you have to slow down and by the time you done that your experience is finished. I drove 3 cars in 2hrs and wouldn't recommend it. Find a experience with a bigger track.

Fantastic experience: Me and my wife Anne both had a great afternoon with Matt on the 4x4 experience.. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.. I would recommend.. Well done.

Positive experience: Had a brilliant day here. My instructor in the Ferrari California was Matt who was lovely, he was really getting me to push the car which I was surprised about after reading some other reviews. I also had the passenger ride in the Lotus which was good fun but over very quickly. Their system of calling names out could be improved upon but I wasn't waiting any more than about 20 minutes so can't complain.

Fantastic experience: Admittedly was not first choice for my son's junior supercard drive, but was offered as an alternative after the original track closed down. We arrived 30 min early allowing roughly 3 hours for the 4 car experience and anticipating some wait between drives. After the easy registration process and no pressure to purchase any extras (collision damage waiver etc.) we were handed a card showing rough times we would be called which were in 4 x 40min slots and the car to be driven. Within 10 minutes my son was called, and within 5 he was sat in the first car 25 minutes before his slot time! The next wait was 45 mins followed by 15 then another 20. My son had an amazing time and could not fault the experience. It would be an experience to just sit in some of these cars, so to actually experience driving these machines this junior experience does exactly what it sets out!

Negative experience: Purchased the Landrover driving experience for my husband. When he called to book - he was told they were fully booked - and then his voucher was out of time! We had to pay extra to extend the voucher - even though it was their fault they were booked. Then they said they only do weekends. If you wanted to go at a lunchtime - extra charge again! Add on's clearly the order of the day here. When we got there, it was just a portakabin with a few plastic patio chairs and a tatty track. Had to book in at the other end of the site - then drive back - or take their minibus. Really old landrover Discovery - R reg. He drove through a bit of scrubland and trees in 1st gear the whole time. No hill climbs, driving through water, drops, etc. He then returned to our car only 10 minutes later - having been told by the very young worker that he had enjoyed '25 minutes'! He had no watch so wasn't aware how short it had been. Was advertised as 40 minutes driving! Had to go all the way back to the main reception only to be told to go back to where we'd been and talk to 'Phil'. The young lad then argued with my husband that indeed he'd had 25 mins - apparently getting in the car at 3.15pm. As we were still at the other end of the site booking in at that moment - he was easily proved wrong. He was then offered another drive with this same worker - so had to request another co driver himself - a girl called Phoebe who took him out for a further 15 mins. NEVER AGAIN. NOT a 'Driving Experience' - more a 'Disappointing Experience'. Don't waste your money.

Positive experience: Booked a two car drive for my sons 13th birthday, bit of drive to the location but easy to find. Very well ran, greeted with a smile and treated my son like an adult. The instructors very good with younger drivers. Highly recommend this event. My only criticism is for 4 laps in both cars my son was stuck behind 4 or 5 other cars so didn't get to put his foot down much, maybe staggered cars in the track. Can't wait to book again and this time I might have a go

Negative experience: Been looking forward to this rally experience for months finally found the place after driving 70 miles only to find the track was a very small oval with only 2 right corners coned out on a rough old run down run way. Was shown the track in a focus rs when to brake and what cones to aim for on the TWO low speed corners when it was time to have a drive it was over in a few minutes like 3 mins. Waited a long time in between driving. No matter what car you drive on the day you can't enjoy the car to its full performance any go kart track in or outdoor is more entertaining even with slow karts. So expect a long wait to drive and no sort of TRACK what so ever well overpriced

Positive experience: This review is on the stafford course. The cars are all good an so we're the instructers. .The "track" itself was terrible. Just a strip of tarmac in the middle of nowhere coned out into an oval shape,so basically 2 straights and 2 right hand hairpins at each end.. If I'd have known this before hand I'd never have booked it. Information like this should be explained on the website.

Positive experience: The experience itself lasted around 3 minutes. I bought the voucher for my boyfriend who is a complete car fanatic. The experience did not live up to what he expected and also didn't provide any excitement. He has been wanting to drive his dream car - the Nissan GTR R35- since passing his test. However he was limited to the speed. The instructor also continued to touch the wheel as he was driving. On arrival, we were shocked to find the amount of people booked in for the same time as his session. We were informed that only 4 people would be on the track at a time and that there were 4 tracks available. However only one track was used and there was 6-7 people on the track at some points. In addition to this my boyfriend was booked in for 8:00am but did not drive the car until 9:10. The insurance payment of the £25.00 would have been worth it if he was able to drive the sports cars as they are supposed to be driven. The experience would be ideal for junior drivers who are less experienced at driving.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant definitely recommend. .. been twice drove the lambo the first time and then the Ferrari. .. but by far the best car is the Nissan GTR

Fantastic experience: Had a great day on the rally experience was exactly what I was expecting as they are normal Subaru and Evo just with stickers on, the instructors a very polite and friendly and more than keen to push you faster at one point we got a bit tail happy and the instructor had a giggle I would recommend this but next time I would choose the lamourghini as I dout I'd ever get the chance to actually own one lol

Negative experience: I got this for my birthday (in may) when I tried to book there were only 3 available dates between then and September! They do have very nice and new looking cars but when I tried to book I had to have the only available car so didn't really have a choice. The lap lasts around 20 seconds or less. The instructor would not let me go past 4500rpm (the car was just about to get going at those rpm) so really I could have done it in your average hot hatch and it would have been no different. I wouldn't do it again or recommend it at all.

Chrissy Bateson 9 years ago

Negative experience: Do not book with this company. They have very few dates, poor choice of cars and no integrity. I was bought an experience as a birthday present but there were no suitable dates requested a refund and they took £25 administration fee. Over 25 percent of the cost of the day is dishonest at the least. Maybe not providing the experience is their actual business. Not fair or honest

Scott 9 years ago

Positive experience: There's a lot of hidden costs. Also the supervisor kept touching the steering wheel whilst I was driving even when I was following the correct lines. Was an ok experience but wouldn't go again.

Fantastic experience: My wife got me this gift for Christmas, and I left it until the better weather in May to do it....and I was not disappointed! I had initially chosen to drive the 360, Gallardo, and GTR. On the day though, the 360 was off so I had to drive the R8 first. I knew that the instructor would want me to be cautious to begin with - after all, he didn't know me. After the first lap was done, I was allowed to drive it properly and with pace; attaining a decent score for it. Similarly, for the subsequent drives I was encouraged to drive them fast and overtake etc., which really pleased me - as the negative reviews I'd seen made me think that I would be "nannied" by the instructors. This was not the case - although there was some constructive advice here and there. Of the 3 cars I drove, the GTR was easily the best track car and must be experienced! I also had a couple of hot laps in the Lotus Elise: the least powerful but was very well driven by the instructor who put the other cars in the shade! Back to basics sports car which really teaches you how a car handles. This kind of stuff isn't new to me, as I've owned & driven many high performance cars... but for a supercar driving experience, I think this is a very good session: as long as you treat the cars and staff with respect. At the end of the day, the staff are there to ensure yours and their own safety. Also, the cars need to be preserved for others' enjoyment and also to prevent you from damaging it which could easily run into thousands. Just think, even the coded ignition key for a Ferrari 360 costs £1200 incl VAT! I couldn't decide whether to give 4 stars or 5, simply down to the waiting time in between drives, which for me was about 1 hour each time. Having considered that, it was a sunny Saturday in May, and there was about 50 people waiting to drive too. Maybe a simple TopGear style white board with peoples' names and cars due up might ease the mystery waiting time? Regardless, I'd highly recommend it for all ages & capabilities! :) Thanks all

Fantastic experience: My son had this for his 13th birthday I was worried after a couple of reviews saying they were conned into buying extras this was absolutely not the case I was offered insurance and declined as it clearly States this was optional. My son absolutely loved his experience driving a Lamborghini and wants to go again and we loved watching.

Mark Alman 9 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic. I drove the Gallardo, Nissan GTR and 360 as well as passenger rides in the R8 and Lotus. An unexpected bonus on the day was a new Huracan which I could not resist. I thought the event was well organised and well designed and the instructors were great. You get to experience Supercars at full throttle. Over too quickly but every time I think about the experience I have a big grin on my face - which is exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended :)

Negative experience: having just returned from the driveme experience , the junior supercar driving blast , It was purchased as a birthday present for my son , I feel absolutely disgusted as the price that was paid for the experience , looking at the web site it states you get forty minutes in your chosen car but when you get there that time is shared between 4 other drivers , so once my Son got in the car and did 4 laps of what I would not call a track , that was it , it lasted about 8 minutes , on returning to the office I was going to purchase a photograph but the lady behind the counter couldn't find the images , and said the camera had stopped taking the photographs . the whole experience was a total let down and it ruined my son's birthday .

Negative experience: Paid around £70 for a supercar drive and a high speed passenger ride, the price was increased because it was a weekend, and they then "strongly recommended" we pay an additional £25 to be fully insured (the insurance provided had an excess of £2000). So after paying almost £100, we arrived with high expectations but were disappointed at the value for money. There were 10-15 people waiting in the track side for their names to be called out and were then ushered into the cars, did 4 laps (sharing the track with 4 or 5 other cars) of a very boring and small circuit. We were then waiting for the passenger ride, which was for me the best bit of the day, and did 2 laps with the instructor driving a Mitsubishi Evo. The track was so short and boring, and the instructor had a brake pedal as well, so the chances of damaging the car was next to nothing, completely conned out of the £25 for the insurance. Maybe during the week it's not so rushed, but i definitely would not go on a Saturday morning again, if at all.

Negative experience: Me my dad and my cousin came down for the day. My cousin paid £25 for a passenger ride which lasted 2 laps about a minute and a half. My dad and I then drove the gtr and the Lamborghini gallardo spider. I got in the gtr and noticed there was a warning light for a flat tyre and oil pressure on the dash board and having just watched the instructor fly off the line in the gtr I asked if I could Rev the car and was told no I asked if I could put the car in sport mode and he said no I then went on the track and put my foot down off the line and was immediately shouted at to slow down. I know they have to find out the drivers skill level before letting us drive them but I was on a completely straight track and having a poster about the car going from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds and not letting is do it seemed daft. The instructors name was Ian and after the first lap he did let me carry on quick but I didn't want to put my foot down too much incase he took me off the track. After this I went in the lambo which had Lewis in as the instructor. To be fair he was loads better and let me get on and actually drive the car and started conversations with me which made the whole experience much better however I must say my dad and I were both disappointed by the gallardo's performance but that's not their fault. My dad said he felt pressured to drive the car fast as the instructor said he was braking to early but he wanted to have a feel for the car before he drove fast. The track itself is really small as well and not that complex there also seemed to be too many on the track meaning I always got stuck behind other cars and once my dad got used to the car the Aston Martin wouldn't move over for him. Overall Id say I was left feeling disappointed with the day out I did a junior day when I was 16 which was a lot of fun and I was expecting more of the same but it really wasn't at all and I was left expecting way more than was actually delivered. I'd have to say driving sensations do a much better experience with longer tracks

Fantastic experience: My son had a voucher for Driveme and we went this Saturday. He had an excellent time grinning from ear to ear as he got out of both the Nissan GTR and Audi R8. He was encouraged to drive the cars as hard as he could. Having a good idea of just how much it costs to keep these vehicles in tyres, brakes, serviced and fuelled I think this is exceptional value for money. ;-)

Peter Duffy 11 years ago

Positive experience: I thought this was pretty good. Yes, the track isn't close to being a full racetrack, but it was enough to get up to 4th and really get a feel for the cars acceleration and yes, it has some shallow potholes, but it is interesting to see how the different cars handle them and its not your suspension getting hammered after all! The corners are tight enough to feel the cars struggling for grip and the tuition was good. If you're a regular track day driver then you'll inevitably be disappointed, but if, like me, it's your first time in a supercar and you just want to get a feel for these machines then I'd recommend it. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and I was encouraged to drive as fast as I safely could, not sparing engines, tyres or brakes. Had several fast laps being driven in Lotus Elise, followed by driving 6 laps each in Aston Martin, Ferrari and Nissan GTR (fastest of all...). All done in 2 hours and maybe £200 inc' cost of original voucher. Suggest:- Allow plenty of time if coming by motorway @ jams on the M6. Wrap up warm. There's a fair bit of standing around.
