Fantastic experience: Jan is incredible. I called him up explaining that I wanted to try and pass my test as quickly and efficiently as possible. Within 2 months I passed my practical test and got my driving licence. He will work with you as an individual, and when necessary be honest with you to help you progress effectively. Also was able to book me in for my test fairly soon into me learning only 6 weeks ahead of time. Over all of this an incredible man, we had the time to connect as people too while having lessons, which made the process so much more enjoyable. I absolutely recommend Jan Driving Academy if you are learning in the Wood Green/Tottenham area.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Ekbal at the Jan driving academy more highly as a driving instructor - he was incredibly thorough, clear and instructive, making sure that with every lesson we covered what would be required for my road test. I have had another driving instructor in the past and Ekbal was far superior. He was also flexible in terms of schedule, punctual and a lovely person to talk to as well. I passed my test the first time and I know it’s because of his excellent instruction which made me feel very confident. He also helped me get a test in time for my deadline (the birth of my second child!) I’d recommend him highly to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Jan is a highly experienced driving instructor who undoubtedly knows all the techniques needed to help a beginner like me pass the driving exam. I was able to learn all the essential skills in just a few lessons. He’s also very flexible and accommodating when it comes to scheduling lessons. Unfortunately, my first exam in Wood Green took place on a tricky route that I hadn’t encountered during my lessons or in any YouTube videos. However, Jan was incredibly supportive and managed to secure me a fast-track test in Tottenham within three weeks for a second attempt. At first, I was nervous about driving in a different area, but Jan gave me the confidence I needed. With just two additional lessons, I was able to pass! I truly appreciate his patience and dedication in helping me succeed in my manual driving exam. I would highly recommend Jan as your driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: Jan is a fantastic driving instructor who really cares about driving he progress of his students. Jan taylor’s each lesson for his students’ needs and as a result made sure that I was prepared not only to pass my test but to drive confidently on my own. Is was great to get to know Jan over the course of our lessons and would recommend him for anyone in north London who is looking to learn how to drive!

Negative experience: I was a student under Adem for a long period of time. Prior to signing on I was assured that a test would be available upon my readiness for the exam, however when the time came, the academy was unable to find me an exam for over one an a half months, by which time I needed to leave the country. Upon returning around 4 months later, I once again contacted the academy to set up a test date along with lessons, that was when a test was suddenly booked and paid for without my confirmation or my approval of the booking time and date, (much worse was that the test was only around a week from the time of notice). It would be ridiculous to assume I would be able to get back to a test ready level having not driven a car for over 4 months. I was ordered to pay and was told this is the standard practice. Fortunately, after negotiation, another student took the slot and I did not have to pay. We agreed that this was due to miscommunication and agreed that a test would be booked for the start of the next month and that I would restart lessons upon the confirmation of a test date. Although everything appeared to be in order, I did not receive any updates for the next 2.5 weeks, at which point it was less than a week away from the next month, putting me in the exact same scenario as last time even if a test were to be able confirmed. I sent a text to ask for an update to which I was responded with "I'm not the one in charge of finding these dates. I just give your license over". At which point I decided to terminate contact and give up on finding a driving test via this academy. I have to say that although my three experiences arranging for a test date were a complete disaster, lessons with Adem were extremely enjoyable. He is a great teacher, the car is good to drive, not too large and easy to manoeuvre. He remained calm under all situations and is nonetheless a wonderful teacher. He remained relatively well mannered, occasionally with tones of passive aggression upon frustration in person and over text.

I would recommend him to anyone Not only is he a fantastic instructor who is evidently very knowledgeable about the rules of the road, he makes a clear effort to get to know every single one of his students and tailor your lesson to your individual needs. I am a working musician, and Jan took it upon himself to use so many musical metaphors and analogies to help me understand driving. Before each one of my tests he would talk and laugh with me about my love for all things music, which really helped keep me relaxed and focussed. He is a very enthusiastic and energetic instructor who, above all else, makes driving fun! I passed my test with 0 minors, and I couldn't have done it without Jan Driving Academy

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Jan Driving Academy. I took automatic lessons with Adem who was amazing. He was very patient, thorough and taught me everything I needed to know to pass the test first time with zero faults! The lessons were tailored to my needs and we focused on any areas that needed work until I was confident and able to do everything to a high standard. Jan Driving Academy were incredibly accommodating. I had just a two week window before starting a new job and Jan managed to secure a fast track test for me the day before the job started. I did 15 hours of lessons within the two weeks and aced the test thanks to Adem! He fit in as many lessons as he could with me which really helped to build up my skills and confidence rapidly. I would definitely recommend Adem and Jan Driving Academy to anyone wishing to learn to drive. I previously had lessons with one of the big driving schools which was a really bad experience for me. I didn’t feel my driving was getting much better even after 25 hours of lessons in total. After this I decided to go with an independent school and came across Jan Driving Academy. I’m so glad I found them. Thanks so much Adem and Jan, I’m truly grateful! :)

Fantastic experience: I'd let my US license expire after moving to the UK and was nervous about taking the driving test here - ten years later - as I still have no idea how I passed the first one (back then I experienced driving as a process of guessing what the rules are and hoping for the best rather than actually knowing what I was doing); Adem turned me into a better and more confident driver than I've ever been, and driving is experienced as a joy rather than as stress. Warm and funny, he is friendly enough to put you at ease while professional enough to make sure you're learning what you need to and are ready for everything you could encounter on the test. He was super patient - I learn more slowly than some,' he would re-focus me when my ADHD brain started to wander, and will allow you to learn at your own pace. I had dreaded undergoing the process of preparing for the driver's test again; I came to look forward to it and will always be appreciative of him and Jan Driving Academy for that. Getting my driving license has me feel like I'm finally an adult again! It's a great feeling and my gratitude to Jan Driving Academy is huge.

He is super kind, friendly and very good at explaining things and instructing manoeuvres whilst allowing you to do it yourself-so you get maximal driving time. He helped me get a test and pass first time with not that many lessons (approx. 14hrs - 7 lessons). Ekbal also prioritises your progress so you will find that he helps you work towards the test, and gain driving confidence rather than repeatedly going over the same thing unnecessarily. Overall I would highly recommend :) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I must say I have no regrets using Jan Driving Academy to pass my driving exam. My instructor Jan from the first conversation we had was honest, open and flexible. I explained what my goals were and he was able to provide feasible options to work towards them. The lessons were always professional and started on time. I also got very useful tips from him from exam point of view that ensures you don’t get into trouble during the test. Fantastic experience: I took manual driving lessons with Jan and I can honestly say he’s the best instructor I’ve ever had. He’s patient, warm and friendly and a great teacher. We practiced test routes from our very first lesson and he does not waste your time and is honest with you as well. He explains rules of the road clearly, as well as how to correct your mistakes and not make them again. Most importantly, he never rushed me or made me feel pressured. I was allowed to take my time with practicing and learning—even when I failed my test the first time (due to some silly mistakes!!) Jan was still very patient with me in our subsequent lessons and went through the routes of my exam again to practice. Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test for the first time after learning with Adem. Due to an emergency I had to switch my driving instructor a week before the exam and Adem was extremely kind and accommodating. Fantastic experience: Found this driving school after encountering unfortunate circumstances with my previous instructor, this school was able to get me a test extremely quickly and at a very reasonable price! My instructor was an amazing person who was lovely, supportive and extremely good at teaching and I was able to pass on my first attempt due to his help! I would definitely recommend them as they were so kind and supportive with the entire process of learning as well as managing to get my hands on an early test date - thank you!

Fantastic experience: Today I passed my driving test at Wood Green with Jan! I found Jan because my previous driving instructor went on holiday, so I needed another driving instructor the month before my driving test. I had ok driving skills before but there were still many areas of improvement and I was not feeling confident. Jan has taken my driving skill up a notch during my month’s lesson with him. His effective teaching skills helped me resolve my driving issues quickly, and his knowledge of the Wood Green area definitely improved my pass rate significantly. He was also punctual and very friendly for every lesson. On the test day he took extra care to make sure I was feeling well and calm and I was able to pass my test with confidence. Fantastic experience: Adem was an absolute dream of an instructor. I’ve had around 4-5 different instructors in the Wood Green/Tottenham area and Adem was by the far the best. Great instructor, calm presence and demeanor, basically everything you want in an instructor. And I passed my test first time with his help! Highly recommend Jan School of Motoring and Adem in particular!

Fantastic experience: Jan is the best - he literally teaches you what you need to know to be a safe driver, and to pass the test safely. He is unlike other instructors - I fired two other instructors before finding Jan because they were giving information that was difficult to understand, and often misleading, and you're so busy worrying about irrelevant things, your actual driving suffers. It didn't inspire confidence in me, and honestly, that's what you need to drive here and to pass your test. I moved here from New York City and I knew how to drive there. (I parallel parked a 20 ft UHaulI truck in Queens, on the first try after driving it in Manhattan during rush hour). I needed to learn and practise on driving with the rules of the road here in the UK... toughest for me: roundabouts, navigating two way streets that are not wide, and parking on the right side of the road. Jan acknowledged my good driving habits and helped me with my confidence here on the roads in London, which resulted in a pass in no time at all. If you're here looking for a driving instructor, he's it. If you have a driving instructor that you're unhappy with, it's absolutely ok to change. Pick Jan. You will not regret it.
