Phoenix Motorcycle Training Foots Cray (Sidcup)

Fantastic experience: Obtained my DAS (Full Motorcycle Licence) via Phoenix at their foots cray location. Had a very pleasant experience overall. All the instructors, right from my CBT to the final test were professional and a pleasure to work with. The motorcycles are in top condition and the facilities were good too. I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I just passed my full A license! I also did my CBT here earlier this year. I would highly recommend coming to Phoenix. All of the instructors have been great, Sam really helped me get up to scratch for the test. The customer service team have also been really helpful via emails and calls. They managed to make some last minute adjustments for me which I really appreciate. Definitely worth the time and money to feel confident and safe on the roads.

Fantastic experience: First Time Doing CBT - Highly Recommend! I recently completed my first CBT at Phoenix Motorcycle Training in Foots Cray, and it was a fantastic experience! Despite choosing the venue based on proximity rather than reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the day turned out. The price includes everything from gloves, helmet, bike hire, etc. A huge thank you to Pepe and the other instructors for their excellent guidance and support. From start to finish, the day was well-organized and engaging, even though it was quite cold. We stayed busy and entertained throughout the session. I would definitely recommend Phoenix Motorcycle Training in Foots Cray to anyone considering their CBT.

Fantastic experience: I successfully completed my CBT here. I chose Phoenix Sidcup as I live close to the centre but met a lot of learners who came here from quite far away. My friend had recommended me and I would recommend Phoenix Sidcup to other friends. The instructors were really good and always kept cool no matter if some of us needed more instructions or made mistakes. This is quite important when choosing a centre. They do have a lot of kit that you can use for the day but if you are serious about buying a motorbike then I would suggest going to bike clothing shop and get atleast a helmet and jacket if not the full kit.

Every instructor that I have been in contact with have been brilliant, they have been really understanding of my needs and adapted their teaching to help me. I connected really well with Karen (Kaz) she has such a calming, friendly personality and I would happily go out riding with her daily plus she understands how my crazy brain works lol. I have now got my CBT certificate and Im already looking to do my DAS with Phoenix as well. This time I did my DAS (mod1 + 2) at this sidcup location and they are a great bunch of guys. Never felt nerves at all, extremely patient and a good bunch of genuine bikers with extensive patience and knowledge. Passed my MOD1 and MOD2 first time.

Fantastic experience: I did my DAS here and loved it. Passed first time for both mod1 and mod2. The instructors are on your side! They want you to pass! My experience was exceptional, lovely focused instructors who know their way around teaching and riding. Despite being the only young woman in my group, I was not treated any different from any other rider learning except being given a slightly shorter bike to help with being on the shorter side. You can’t go wrong booking with them.

Negative experience: Don't waste your money and time here. I sent a friend last year to do cbt. He has been riding motorcycle for 10 years but they failed to all participated. Yesterday I took my brother. They just passed 1 person out of 7 candidate. Don't waste your time and money here.

Fantastic experience: I've always wanted to learn to ride a motorbike, although when I attended my first lesson I found I was really nervous. Harry, Nick, Darren and Adam, were all very patient and great teachers over the 3 lessons and CBT onsite, and then Harry took me out on the road for the final part of my CBT. He was very calm and informative, and the position he put himself in the road behind us made me feel really safe. Their person centered approach is really refreshing. Fantastic experience: I underwent Module 1 and Module 2 training with Phoenix for the A licence and happy to say that I have obtained my licence. I was very happy with the level and speed of the training provided by the various instructors. Now that I have my full licence I will be looking to book further advanced training with them to improve my knowledge and confidence.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing journey with phoenix in Sidcup. I have just passed my full A licence with them. My initial intro was with Sam who did a initial assessment of what course would be best suited. He was super professional, helpful and filled me with so much confidence (prior to this - I did an assessment in another school in Eltham - who totally shattered my confidence). I then went on to do my Mod 1 and Mod 2. Mod 1 was with an amazing teacher, Steve B, who has infinite amounts of knowledge and once we nailed down the pad work, Steve B then went on to get us thinking about Mod 2 - we had some amazing rides down A and B roads with him - all in all, this made us a much safer and confident rider, especially doing it this early. I still think about the gems of knowledge that Steve shared with us, and it will stick with my throughout my biking journey. Mod 2 training was with Harry. Easy to get along with and very helpful. Spent a full day and a half riding around all the rest routes etc. On the test day, I had the pleasure of having Chris - extremely knowledgeable and took real time and care to iron out any mistakes or issues. All in all, I felt like I really got along well with Chris. Did my test in Erith and passed with no faults. Very chuffed and pleased I went with phoenix in Sidcup. Oh and special shout out to Helen, Lisa and Steph - who are exceptionally lovely when booking, and clearly go the extra mile to work around your availability and best course of action - they are the unsung heroes I believe! Thank you Phoenix! I will recommend this school to all my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Harry Browne best trainer. I have problems understanding English, and I also speak poorly, but with him I passed everything without any problems. If you are thinking about studying in phoenix, go to him :)

Negative experience: BOYCOTT. Do not give this company your money. My partner and I were left feeling incredibly upset, humiliated and robbed of our money for reasons that are not justifiable. We arrived at the centre at 8:04 am due to extreme and unforeseen travel disruption, and were turned away even though the course started only a few minutes before (8:00 am). The instructors were incredibly rude and unreasonable when we tried to explain our situation, having left an extra half hour for the journey (1 hour 30 in total) in order to make sure that we were there on time for 7:45 as per their email. After various bus delays and cancellations perhaps affected by the train strikes, and no taxi's or e-bikes available to get us there on time, there was simply nothing we could have done. This kind of situation is an unfortunate thing that can happen to anyone. Since the course had only started four minutes before, and that joining at that point would not have missed anything vital or been disruptive to others, I don't see any reason that they wouldn't let us join other than the fact that it would force us to re-book for another 170 pounds each (which unfortunately for them, we cannot afford on a low income during a cost of living crisis). It was also quite obvious that the instructors were enjoying the power play of humiliating us for being late, particularly as we were not men, in a male dominated space. It was an incredibly upsetting experience and while I understand the company's strict late policy, which was in fairness clearly communicated to us beforehand, as I'm sure they will explain in the reply to this review, it was a very unkind and unreasonable act that I can't possibly see as justified. I would strongly advise people to go to a different organisation simply because of the values of this company that have been shown to not care about their customers, and their eagerness to rob you of your money. It's possible that this was simply the two male instructors at the Sidcup centre, but perhaps Phoenix more generally. If Phoenix is the only option available to you due to area or finances, perhaps avoid public transport if you can, noting that they are unforgiving to reasonable and unfortunate circumstances like these.

Negative experience: AVOID- Be really careful about timings. Because me and my partner were 4 minutes late we weren’t allowed on the course and lost the £340. The instructors were really rude about the situation. We understand that being late was on us, but It was a really unlucky situation. 2 buses we were on broke down, there were no Ubers or lime bikes, our eta was initially 7:25, and we called a couple of times to warn them. When we explained this the instructors were angry and unsympathetic. £340 is a LOT of money to loose. Since it was only a few minutes it felt unfair not to let us on the course or refund anything. But even if they couldn’t, the bare minimum would have been to be sympathetic. The male instructor who took us outside kept lying. He told us off about being late for 5 minutes. Then when we said we were only a couple minutes late he said we arrived at 8:10, when the time wasn’t even 8:10 yet! After this, he said we’d missed half the class. It was really confusing and blatantly not true. The instructor inside got unnecessarily angry with us and shamed us for the situation we were in. He was really patronising, it felt like he was asserting his power for the sake of it. Ultimately, this isn’t a place if you want any ounce of sympathy. The guy on the phone at phoenix was really nice and said it seemed like the instructors were being unfair, so maybe we were just unlucky. If you choose this place, be REALLY careful about getting there. Get there an hour early and don’t rely on public transport as you won’t get let in or refunded if you’re a second late. There’s another CBT course, universal, which we’ve re booked with. They’re also strict on timing, but allow a bit more leeway incase this happens.

Fantastic experience: Top instructors, top teaching methods, great humanity and positive vibe from all the staff. Nick and Steve's welcoming cordiality on the assessment day was heart-warming when i stepped in the office the first time. Feeling blessed to have had little Sam and little Chris as my instructors. they have corrected my riding bad habits in no time with a lot of patience and effectiveness. Also Steph at the office was super helpful to find the best solution for my needs.

Having had a really bad experience previously where I was shouted at and bullied (for no obvious reason just for being a female) I was very sceptical at first and took me a long time to sign up for my DAS training. All instructors at Sidcup are down to earth, friendly and supportive. Both of my instructors were ("Big Sam" and "Little Sam") absolutely amazing with heir calm and encouraging attitude which have helped me to keep my cool in all situations. Clear instructions, informative teaching method. I have passed both MOD1 and MOD2 at first attempt - big thank you for both of them! I highly recommend Phoenix Motorcycle Training (Foots Cray) to anyone who's thinking of getting a cat A licence.

Fantastic experience: I did my ERS (Enhanced Rider Scheme) with Ian and I had a super day! Ian was really helpful and knowledgeable giving me more understanding how to be a safer motorcyclist on the road and also more information how to filter, overtake, riding around bends, etc. I felt the day was actually relaxing (even though it rained heavily for a bit) and we had a good time knowing each other and he was happy to answer any questions I had (plus tips when using my brand new bike). I did this course in their Sidcup branch and Ian specialises in ERS. I highly recommend doing this with Phoenix and Ian as you will really learn a lot after getting your full licence and it will decrease your insurance. Also they get back to you really~ quickly

Negative experience: This place is an absolute joke. My partner went here to have her CBT done, may I start by saying. The person who was training her had absolutely NO CLUE as to what he was doing, to a point where he had another instructor telling him what to do and telling him he was teaching them wrong. They also started at 8am and none of the cbt trainers had a break, none of them ate and they weren’t allowed to leave to eat. They were left training hungry and kept asking the instructor when the break was but never got one. How do you expect do to the training until 4pm without eating? This place is an absolute joke and I do not recommend it to anyone

Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend Phoenix more highly. They have got great facilities and each of the trainers that helped me passed my CBT, gave me my first experience on a big bike, and helped me pass my Mod 1 and 2 were superb. They have an excellent approach to training, spending as much time as possible on the bike, but supplementing this with practical classroom tution.

Fantastic experience: Excellent instructors with great knowledge of the areas and insight into the testing nuances. Given the tricky London based driving location, the instructors were very good in pointing out the problematic areas to focus on. Admin was very good and they were very amiable over the phone, getting me booked in late notice and helping me change bookings. Would recommend to anyone looking to go from 0-(hero) like I did.

Fantastic experience: I had an absolutely wonder experience completing my CBT with Phoenix Motorcycle Training Foots Cray. The trainers were so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about getting safe riders out on to the road. The trainers (Pepe, Steve and Mark) all gave so much time and care with each of us, making sure everyone was able to work at their own pace and reach the required level for every exercise without being rushed on to the next. The bikes were in excellent condition and the training ground and facilities were excellent too. I highly recommend Phoenix no matter what your level of experience, whether you are just beginning your biking journey or an experienced rider looking for some refresher skills. 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I had tried another school previous to Phoenix but that was not a great experience. Phoenix showed themselves to be an outstanding school. Each one of their trainers are passionate about riding as individual riders in their own field and this passion transferred clearly on to their students. I worked with three trainers including Harry who a well as knowing his stuff was clear, patient and helped me vastly with my nerves. I passed both mod 1 and 2 with them and I know it was due to their thorough professional knowledge and the great passionate team they have both at their training venues and in the office. Fantastic experience: Big thanks to the guys at Phoenix motorcycle training. The instructors were patient, attentive, and gave time for me to learn at my own pace. I worked with Nick, Paul, Chris, and Sam. All of whom were absolutely brilliant Helen and Steve in the office worked tirelessly to help get me through the course and were a great help. Fantastic experience: Just got my A2 licence today thanks to the help of the team at Sidcup. My instructor Harrison was great really helped me with confidence and took time explaining and showing me everything passed both mod 1 and mod 2 first time with them and really well worth it can’t wait to get my A licence with them next year! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I did my direct access here waaaaay back 2008, I've never had an accident and I'm still alive and breathing,I passed my test first time with no minors, thus has to be testament to the excellent training I received, Update: today my son is doing his CBT and they have been nothing but professional and keep us informed throughout

Fantastic experience: Just did my Mod 1 and Mod 2, passed first time with 'little' Sam as they call him, and Paul Brown at Phoenix Sidcup, they were super helpful and friendly and I had a great experience, absolute legends. They went into lots of detail and answered any questions or concerns I had in the training, I felt very at ease and confident going into both exams. 100 percent recommend and will be recommending my friends to go here, I was very nervous to begin with due to previous bad experiences elsewhere, but the instructors were absolutely amazing and a laugh. Thanks again team, I look forward to coming back again!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding training centre. Due to a previous RTA ( not motorbike related!) I was an incredibly nervous first time rider, I had to have one-to-one training for quite a while, all of these guys have the patience of a saint - including Lisa in the office! Their training methods, encouragement & people skills are truly second to none. I completed my CBT with Sam at Foots Cray on Friday, my 2nd attempt. I couldn’t have done it without their constant support, fun approach & humour, they deserve a BIG thank you by name so cheers to :- Darren, Harry, Pepe, Chris, both Sams, Wynne, Roger & of course Lisa. I’ve honestly had so much fun I’m looking forward to further training & getting my full license.

Fantastic experience: Recently underwent the Direct Entry Unrestricted Licence course with Phoenix. All the training provided was professional and personalised to my needs. I had instructors Sam and Harrison which were both great at delivering the course, they were friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. With the great training provided I managed to pass Mod1 and Mod2 both first time.

Fantastic experience: Pepe gave me a fantastic CBT training sessions despite really terrible weather conditions - he knew the training in great depth and is capable teacher with a sense of humour and a Zen like calm ! The facility at Foots Cray is great - I particulalrly like the training pad which had real road markings and makes it easier to imagine real scenarios - Phoenix are a great company and I have had repeat visits to their centres to forward my own training and skills - big shout out to Lisa who found me a course when it was looking difficult to slot me in.
